Late New Year’s Resolution // January 31st

Every year on the 31st, most of us sit down and reflect on the past 12 months. On the last day of 2017, I sat down and reminisced on this year’s past events. This year hasn’t been one with much tangible achievements or failures due to never actually setting goals for the preceding one. In 2016, I had one goal for the next year; be happy and create fun memories. I did not graduate university or get the internship of my dreams. I did not even lose the 50lbs I’ve been trying to shed for the past 5 years !   However, as I reflect on this  past year, one thing that I have achieved is true happiness and personal growth.

This past year, I’ve learnt to accept that it’s okay to be uncomfortable in certain situations. I’ve made time for family and friends and also redefined what friendship means to me. Negative vibes have become a direct NO NO along with people who hinder my personal growth. I’ve become more honest with myself and others around me; AKA “F*CK the passive aggressive way I used to deal with things”. I’ve grown, matured, surrounded myself with positivity and made memories I will cherish with people who inspire me daily.

Last year, I realized that new year resolutions weren’t always necessary. This was my transition year from a really horrible 2016.  However, as 2018 is around the corner, I’ve decided to create goals I would like to achieve by 2019.

BE DETERMINED AND PERSEVERE: One of my character flaw is that I never finish anything! I will start a project with excitement and stop half way when I don’t see any results.  This is something I need to leave in 2017. Nothing comes easy! Therefore, to see your dreams come to fruition, you have to put in a lot of work and believe in yourself. Trust your timing and don’t give up (advice to myself).

BE FEARLESS:  Failure has always been a fear of mine. It has held me back in many ways and hindered my personal growth career wise. This year needs to be about getting out of my comfort zone, being bold, letting go of my doubts and realizing that fear is only as real as you allow it to be. It’s all in your head.

HAVE A BETTER LIFESTYLE: I don’t know about you guys but I for one need a change of lifestyle. Whether it’s taking care of my body by going to the gym, eating right, getting 8 hours of sleep or just waking up early to be more proactive during the day…Something needs to change.

WORK ON MY CAREER GOALS: This is one of my main goals this year. I’ve always wanted to work in Social Media, Public Relation and Marketing. This year, I want to network, put out content, put my best foot forward and work towards getting my university degree.

These are my goals for 2018 ! I would love to know what yours are so don’t be shy and write them down in the section  below <3

You’ve blossomed so much into a person that a friend can be proud of. I’ve never met anyone so determined to accomplish their goals, so these new years resolutions should be easy peasy! ❤️
